Auerhahn is one of the oldest and best known cutlery brands on the European market and is becoming well recognised locally also in the New Zealand market. From 1870 to the present day, the cutlery specialist from Altensteig in southern Germany is a name synonymous with prime quality and excellent design.

Auerhahn prides itself on the ergonomic perfection of its cutlery and design accessories. They believe that at first glance, the eye must take delight at what the hand feels. All pieces must be a joy to the eye and to the touch, totally smooth and immaculate. The knife, fork and spoon mould themselves naturally in your hands.

Auerhahn makes every piece from the best material there is for cutlery: grade 18/10 stainless steel. It is made of 72% steel, 18% chrome and 10% nickel. It is stainless, absolutely dishwasher resistant, extremely strong, easy to clean and is available either in matt or bright finish.

Auerhahn works on the philosophy that the best things in life are very simple: good quality and good looks. It is important to recognise however that design is not just a question of good looks but it invloves ergonomic and haptic aspects. The perfect shape must be linked with the perfect function, so that out-of-the-ordinary design can be for day-to-day use.
